Change Two

Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." ~~Nehemiah 8:10

Yesterday I began to write about change for the purpose of encouraging you to see the change or changes you may be going through as necessary and good. In order for us to grow and really change, we have to always keep the main thing in view, and the main thing is Jesus.

So, the main thing I want to leave you with is not so much the change itself, but the reason for the change. Simply put, change is taking place because of THE WORD itself and Himself."In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." ~~John 1:1-3
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." ~~Hebrews 4:12

It is the sharpness, the exactness of the Word that woos us, calls us and therefore makes real change possible. So many of us are tired of wandering in the desert of the same old, same old. So, let's choose today to lay aside every false way and get the understanding of His way that will lead us into and through changes toward transforming change on this side of heaven.

"Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
